Our customer needed to insert three resistors, each of a different ohm rating, into this circuit insert produced from .005” thick phosphorous bronze. Instead of a costly secondary operation of positioning and then soldering them in place, we took on the challenge and proposed tooling to produce the assembly complete with resistors in place. The assembly is then over molded, resulting in a robust component, complete with wire leads in the IDC slots. The system also features high speed cameras reading the international barcodes on the resistors, ensuring that the proper resistor is inserted into the correct location in the piece part.
